Action Research is one of the new methods of research in teaching. This process where participants examine their own educational practice systematically and carefully using research techniques. Kurt Levin (1890-1947), the founder of the method, says, "if you want to understand something, try to change them." So he points to a new research strategy by which the researcher not only receives theoretical knowledge on a particular problem, but also tries to solve it by direct intervention. Kurt Levin coined the term “action research” in about 1944.He described action research as “a comparative research on the conditions and effects of various forms of social action and research leading to social action” that uses “a spiral of steps, each of which is composed of a circle of planning, action, and fact-finding about the result of the action”.
