Abstract: In recent years, interest in the motivational component of learning a foreign language has increased considerably among all language-related fields, including linguodidactics, school-based foreign language instruction, psycholinguistics, psychology, and pedagogy. Representatives of society at all levels must recognize the value of learning foreign languages in order to effectively adjust to the current situation, in which Europe has transformed into a single multinational, multicultural, and multilingual whole. This is because language study promotes tolerance, collaboration mutual understanding between peoples, and respect for the individual regardless of their ethnic background, nationality, religion, or political affiliation.
