Nowadays, the problem of forming the Common functional literacy among all students at different stages of learning and different types of professional training is becoming very relevant, especially in the systems of continuing and professional education. Sustainable development of society is possible if all members of society have a common functional literacy, professional competen-cies, social and emotional intelligence.
In the modern comprehension social and emotional intelligence must be de-veloped throughout life, as well as maintain general functional literacy at a cer-tain level. Professional competencies can change throughout life, as a person tends to change their professional activities. Therefore, it is very important to de-fine these concepts, as is customary in the global educational space. Professional competencies are rigidly tied to the profession, therefore, they are not the general one that develops continuously at all stages of education, from preschoolers to tertiary students. Therefore, special attention should be paid precisely to the formation of general functional literacy and social and emotional development.
It is clear that in educational institutions of professional education, with a wide variety of specialties, different instruments for measuring general functional literacy and socio-emotional development are also required, and the teacher and student must have general functional literacy and be moral to the same degree, at least. And not only to be moral and competent in your profession, but to own all types of general functional literacy, be able to manage your emotions and be your own in the society where a person lives, works and studies throughout his life.
The formation of a professionally oriented personality competence in the university is carried out in three directions: basic training (professional and psy-chological and pedagogical knowledge); methodological culture; pedagogical skills and abilities. The system of higher professional education forms the future specialist and prepares him for future professional activities.
A complex set of qualities that a modern specialist must possess can de-velop a system in which everything positive that is in traditional education will be used, and new, rational approaches are introduced that compensate for the shortcomings of the existing system in their mutual complementarity. Regardless of the specialization and nature of future professional activity, any beginner spe-cialist must have fundamental knowledge, professional and pedagogical skills and abilities.
