Time management is a crucial factor influencing student`s academic success and well-being. In this study, we investigated the relationship between time management skills and academic performance of Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Oskemen, Kazakhstan. Our main research question was: How does effective tame management impact student`s academic achievements and mental health? We hypothesized that students who actively and effectively use time management strategies – such as prioritizing tasks, using planners or to-do list, and schedule study day would demonstrate higher academic performance and lower stress levels. To study this, we conducted survey, semi-structured interviews, and focus group with school psychologists. Survey results showed that students with higher time management skills were more likely to have higher academic results and study for a consistent amount of time daily. Interviews supported these findings, highlighting prioritization and planning as the most effective strategy. The focus group with psychologists confirmed that poor time management contributes stress, sleep and low self-confidence, while good time management skills support healthier mental and physical states. Overall, our findings support the hypothesis that effective tome management improves academic performance and contributes positively to student`s health. These outcomes emphasize the need for schools to actively teach time management strategies and encourage structured planning tools for students.
